4th of July Guide: 5 Ways to Celebrate in the Valley!🇺🇸🎆

Hey neighbors! 👋 Can you believe the 4th of July is already next week? This year is extra special because our entire country is celebrating America’s 250th birthday! 🎂🥳
Because it’s such a big milestone, towns all around our area are throwing massive celebrations. If you are trying to figure out where to watch fireworks, find some yummy food trucks, or let the kids run around, you don’t have to guess.
I have gathered up 5 incredible 4th of July events happening right here in and around Grain Valley. Put on your favorite red, white, and blue shirt, and let’s map out our holiday weekend! 🔴⚪🔵
1. Legacy Blast in Lee's Summit (Thursday, July 2nd) 💥
Why wait until the 4th to start the party? Lee’s Summit is kicking off the holiday early with their annual Legacy Blast at Legacy Park! 🌳✨
Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the massive fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. * The Fun: This event is completely free! They will have live DJs playing music, activities for kids ages 12 and under, and a ton of delicious food trucks. 🍔🚚 The fireworks are even choreographed to music that you can listen to on 94.9 KCMO radio! 📻🎶
Tip: 💡 This is a super popular event, and the gates usually close early once the parking lots are completely full (sometimes as early as 8:15 p.m.!). Make sure to pack your lawn chairs and head out early to score a great spot.
2. Red, White & Blue Springs (Friday, July 3rd) 💥
Our next-door neighbors are throwing a huge celebration at Wilbur Young Park on Friday night, and it features something totally unique this year!
3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The Fun: Along with live music from The Suburbans, tons of local vendors, and family contests, they are hosting a spectacular 300-piece drone light show right before the big fireworks finale! 🛸✨ It is going to be an absolutely beautiful sight in the night sky.
3. Old-School Fun at Missouri Town (Saturday, July 4th) 🐴🏛️
If you want to experience Independence Day the way our forefathers did back in the 1800s, take a quick drive over to the Missouri Town Living History Museum on Saturday!
The Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (The historic village parade starts at Noon!) 🕒🥁
The Fun: Tickets are just $8 for adults and $4 for kids (5 and under are free!). You can play 19th-century pioneer games, watch traditional tradesmen at work, listen to patriotic speeches, and see hearth-cooking demonstrations. 🧵🍦 It is a wonderful, educational tradition for the whole family.
4. Our Annual Ryan Meadows Neighborhood 4th of July Parade! (Saturday, July 4th) 🚲🎈💥
Of course, the absolute best part of the holiday is celebrating right here at home with our favorite neighbors! 🥰🏡 Our annual Ryan Meadows Neighborhood 4th of July Parade is officially locked in for Saturday morning.
Saturday, July 4th at 10:00 a.m. sharp!
Get the kids dressed up in their most patriotic outfits and help them deck out their bicycles, tricycles, wagons, or strollers in red, white, and blue! We will march through the neighborhood together, and we'll end the route down at our neighborhood clubhouse.
The Reward: Every kiddo who participates gets a refreshing popsicle and a fun goodie bag at the clubhouse to celebrate!

5. Relaxing in the Yard with a Home Display 💥🍔
If you prefer a quiet holiday, nothing beats a classic backyard BBQ right here in the neighborhood. Grilling up some hot dogs, playing cornhole, and lighting a few sparklers on the driveway with the people you love is the ultimate way to wrap up the summer weekend.
