Grab your sunscreen, pull out your favorite swimsuit, and get your flip-flops ready! The best sign of summer is finally here. The Grain Valley Aquatic Center is officially opening for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 23rd (Memorial Day Weekend).
When the hot Missouri sun starts beating down this summer, there is no better place to be than splashing around with your friends and neighbors. But before you run out the door with your beach towel, the city has some specific rules and pass requirements you need to know for 2026. As your local neighborhood expert, I’ve put together the ultimate guide to help your family dive into summer without any hiccups!
When is the Pool Open?
Starting on May 23rd, the pool will be open every single day for "Open Swim."
Daily Hours: Monday through Sunday from Noon to 6:00 p.m.
The Last Splash: The final swim day of the year will be on Labor Day (Monday, September 7th) from Noon to 4:00 p.m.
Keep in mind that when the Grain Valley School District goes back to classes in mid-August, the pool hours will change based on lifeguard schedules.
How to Get Your 2026 Pool Passes
This is the most important part of the checklist! You cannot just show your phone or an electronic receipt at the pool gate. The city requires everyone to have a physical pass with their picture on it.
Step 1: Buy Your Pass You can purchase your season memberships online or in person at the Community Center.
Resident Prices: $65.00 for an individual or $120.00 for a family (up to 4 people living at the same address).

Non-Resident Prices: $95.00 for an individual or $190.00 for a family.

Step 2: Get Your Picture Taken Once you buy your pass, your whole family must go to the Grain Valley Community Center front desk. The staff will take an updated photo of everyone and print your official plastic pool badges. The main adult on the account must be there and show a photo ID to pick them up.
Important Pool Rules
To keep everyone safe and happy, the Aquatic Center has a few strict rules. Make sure to talk to your kids about these before you walk through the gates:
Safety First: Children under 10 years old and anyone who cannot swim must have an adult with them at all times.
Life Jackets: Only U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are allowed. If you don't own one, don't worry! The pool has life jackets you can borrow on-site for free.
Leave the Toys at Home: There are NO rafts, inflatable floats, pool noodles, water cannons, or balls allowed in the pool.
Snacks and Drinks: You cannot bring outside food or coolers into the facility. However, you are allowed to bring sealed bottles of water. If you get hungry after swimming laps, a concession stand is open inside the park with yummy treats!
Swim Lessons and Fun Activities
Want to become a better swimmer this summer? Group swim lessons are back for 2026! Registration is already open, and classes cost $55.00 per session.
The classes are broken down into fun levels based on age and skill, starting with "Shrimp" for toddlers, "Nemo" for preschoolers, and going all the way up to "Flipper" for older kids who want to learn advanced swim strokes.
If you are an adult looking for a cool workout, they are also offering Water Aerobics sessions starting June 1st. It is a fantastic, low-impact way to stay fit while staying cool!
Why Our Pool Makes Grain Valley a Great Place to Live
When people look to buy a home in a new town, they aren't just looking at the house. They look at the parks, the schools, and places like the Aquatic Center. Having a beautiful, safe, and clean pool down the street makes neighborhoods like ours, highly desirable. It brings neighbors together, creates summer jobs for our local teenagers, and gives kids a safe place to play all summer long.
